Barbara Duzan's beaded works are quite different from her bronzes, and we are devoting a new page to this work.
Image working with tiny string beads and laying them out, and as the Huichol tribe in Mexico do, and place and push them into wax. Barbara is using a different and stable matte medium for her beading. She careful chooses the size of bead, the additional ornamentation of dried seed pods, flowers or from beach finds. Even though, she starts with a premade taxidermy form, she carefully adds layers of additional clay to create the form as she sees in her minds' eye. Then the beading process takes place lasting up tp a couple of months.
These pieces are somewhat delicate, but are truly amazing to see in person. Please ask for additional detailed photos. Easy to hang.
