As a painter and printmaker I tap a vast supply of information through personal memory and experience with much of it being documented photographically. When my brush touches the canvas or printmaking plate the journey begins. Layers upon layers pf paint, ink or collage papers are manipulated with much attention until it makes perfect sense to me. The surface as important to me as the imagery. In tandem with a combination of color, marks, space, depth and tension they eventually fill the canvas and becomes its own subject for the viewer to contemplate.
